diam Systems — New Release
A database engine built with discipline.
No excuses. No complexity.
What is diamDB
diamDB is a high-performance, source-available database engine from diam Systems — the same company behind diamOS and a suite of resilient enterprise software. Built to the same exacting standard as everything else we make: tested, refined, and held to a standard that leaves no room for compromise.
Released under the Business Source License 1.1, diamDB is freely available to use, study, and modify for non-production purposes. The source is open, the architecture is clean, and the intent is clear: give developers a database they can trust.
Built on macOS. Runs everywhere.
Core capabilities
Designed from first principles to remain stable under load, across failures, and over time. No silent corruption. No undefined behaviour.
The full source is on GitHub. Read it, study it, run it. We believe in transparent software — you should be able to see exactly what your data is stored in.
diamDB is lean. No sprawling dependency trees, no bloated runtimes. It installs fast, starts fast, and stays out of your way.
Clean separation between storage, query, and protocol layers. Consistent internal conventions. Code you can actually read and reason about.
Runs natively on macOS, Linux, and Windows. Built on macOS, tested across all three. No second-class citizens.
Every line of code is shaped to deliver reliability at scale. We don't ship half-finished features. When diamDB does something, it does it correctly.
"Technology should serve people without defects, excuses, or complexity."
